Carlo Maria Nartoni
“A solo piano concert can give voice to primordial instincts, wild desires, obscure or dormant feelings within and it is through his constant and insatiable research that pianist Carlo Maria Nartoni searches for a “live” and ruthlessly sincere expression.
This aspect renders any of his concerts or events unique and unrepeatable and can reach an almost “magical” and “ritual” dimension.
The spectator experiences a truly live “confession”, moved by an authentic “ferocious desire” (as Keith Jarrett would say) when participating at an event. Original pieces, improvisations and research of sound are the elements you experience, rendering ever changing sensations, some times through sweetly sublime melodies others through harsh and painful dissonances. Even the original pieces, lyrical and easy on the ear, are susceptible to change in any one performance.
If you love risk then you will love a concert like this. Courage is needed to watch a sometimes troubled soul perform and who can somehow “reflect” your own feelings. It is impossible to leave one of Carlo Maria Nartoni's performances without feeling moved."
Pianist Carlo Maria Nartoni originates from a classical music background which began at the Conservatory of Como, followed by jazz and ultimately by impromptu performance.
Carlo was also the permanent pianist with the “Civica Jazz Band” Milan directed by Enrico Intra.
He can boast concerts in important European theatres performing together with prestigious musicians such as Franco Ambrosetti, Kenny Wheeler, Franco Cerri, Lenneart Aberg and many others.
Currently, he performs promoting his own original compositions.
